my first december post! haha.. (:
seems like i've been rather busy lately.. no, i'm not working.
oh well, i've promised valerie to blog about the korea trip.. but.. haha.. i'm too lazy to write everything down! there are just so much things that i wanna say.. hmm.. maybe i'll just write a brief one.. not from day to day cuz it will look like an itinerary! haha.. so here it goes.. and at the same time, i'm trying hard to recall some stuff too.. i have STM, ya know. =X
first thing first, took a 6.5 hours flight (Korean Air) to Korea (Seoul). my flight time is 1am. so yea.. you can imagine. can't see the beautiful scenery already. everything is darkness. :( but managed to catch a glimpse of the thick layer of white clouds below the plane at dawn. (: haha.. oh man.. why do i sound as if it's my first time taking a plane?! too excited, i guess. LOL. Korea's time is 1 hour ahead of Singapore's.
some information on Korea:
stuff in Korea is 2-3 times more expensive than Singapore's. or rather, stuff in Singapore is too cheap (the tour guide said one). there are lots of imitation goods in Korea. yea, and i mean real lots of them! every street also sells LV, Gucci, Prada, Chanel etc.. haha.. and 99.99% of Korean population brings fake stuff on streets. lols. Koreans dress really well. everyone is like fashionistas. it takes hours to travel from one place to another. there are lots of mountains around. beautiful scenery. no coffee shop or food court around. Korea's school uniforms are real nice! you know, like those that you see on tv. most Koreans are nice people. They greet and say, "Ah-neo Ha-sei-yo" ("Ni Hao" in Chinese). and lastly, i was quite shocked that some Koreans can actually speak mandarin!
1. FOOD
who says Korean food is sucky? haha.. wait till you try the authentic Korean food. it's so much different from those that sell in Singapore. but i gotta admit that i wasn't used to the food at first. they either have barbeque or steamboat (Korean style). ate ginseng chicken too. serving is huge. pao cai and seaweed are a MUST in Korean meal. i didn't try the pao cai cuz it doesn't look appealing to me. wahaha.. their cutlery are kinda cute. lol. the food selling at the road-side stalls are quite alright. i think i saw a stall selling worms or whatever insects. and the smell is enough to kill me. =X
2. SHOPPING
shopped at many many places. the last 1.5 days are just pure shopping. and it can get really boring at times. firstly, everywhere you see are winter clothings, which of course doesn't make sense to wear it here in Singapore. haha.. then they are also many shopping places selling the same stuff. looked like a combination of orchard and bugis actually. did buy some stuff though. (:
3. PARKS/MUSEUMS/DRAMAS FILMING SITES
don't wanna elaborate on this. :P
went to the Winter Sonata's filming site. and also to 2 palaces.. looked like those in Da Chang Jin. -.-" not Princess Hours. how sad uh. haha..
4. ACTIVITIES/PLAYING!
climbed this icy mountain.. and it was damn cold and windy. was 90% frozen.
tried skiing at another mountain.. temperature was 1-2 deg C. the ice/snow was like so slippery? skiing is not easy at all luh, forget about snow-boarding. but nevertheless, i still enjoyed myself. (:
also went to EVERLAND! which is something like Disneyland. damn nice the place. there's even a zoo in there! close encounter with the huge bears and lions etc..! played some rides.. arg.. can't believe that i still don't dare to try the 360 deg roller coaster. =/
and also many other stuff.. lazy to elaborate! geez.
oh ya, there was snowing! my third time already. how lucky. haha.. but it's only for awhile.. :( also, i saw a protest going on! so many people! but too bad, i didn't take any picture. heh..
alright, i don't know what else to blog already.. so hope that valerie will blog too when she comes back today! i think the places she went to also more or less about the same as mine. hmm.. ya, i wanna know if valerie got go to the TEDDY BEAR MUSEUM or not? too bad that i didn't have the chance to go to that island (called Jeju or something). boOoOo.
